چکیده

West Junggar is a key area for understanding intra-oceanic plate subduction and the final closure of Ocean. Knowledge Carboniferous tectonic evolution Ocean region required framework accretionary processes in Junggar, Central Asian Orogenic Belt. A series Early volcanic intrusive rocks, namely, basaltic andesite, dacite, diorite, occur Mayile southern northwestern China. Our new LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb geochronological data reveal that diorite intruded at 334 (±1) Ma, andesite was erupted (±4) Ma. These rocks are calc-alkaline, display moderate MgO (1.62%–4.18%) contents Mg# values (40–59), low Cr (14.5×10−6–47.2×10−6) Ni (7.5×10−6–34.6×10−6) contents, characterized by enrichment light rare-earth elements large-ion lithophile depletion heavy high-field-strength elements, meaning they belong to typical subduction-zone island-arc magma. The samples show initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (range 0.703649–0.705008), positive εNd(t) 4.8–6.2 mean 5.4), young TDM Nd model ages ranging from 1016 616 indicating magmatic origin depleted mantle involving partial melting 10%–25% garnet spinel lherzolite. Combining our results with those previous studies, we suggest these were formed as result northwestward oceanic plate, which caused sub-arc mantle. We conclude arc magmatism extensive during Carboniferous.

Geochemistry and Sr-Nd Isotopes of the Oligo-Miocene Bagh-e-Khoshk Granitoid in SE of the UDMA, Iran: Implications for Petrogenesis and Geodynamic Setting

Oligo-Miocene Bagh-e-Khoshk granitoid stock is intruded into the Eocene volcanic rocks in the southeastern part of the Urumieh-Dukhtar Magmatic assemblage in Iran. The granitoids are mainly consisting of diorite, quartz diorite and granodioritic rock types. They are metaluminous to slightly peraluminous, medium to high K calc-alkaline, with SiO2 ranging from 50.2 to 66 wt.%. The majo...

Overpressure generation and evolution in a compressional tectonic setting, the southern margin of Junggar Basin, northwestern China

Overpressure is widespread in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin, northwestern China. Pressure measurements in drillstem tests and repeated formation tests and estimates from wire-line logs indicate contrasting overpressure values between permeable sandstones and adjacent low-permeability mudrocks. In addition, excess pressure differs among anticlines with similar depth, lithologies, and ...

Nd–Hf–Sr–Pb isotopes and trace element geochemistry of Proterozoic lamproites from southern India: Subducted komatiite in the source

The probable sources of some of the famous Indian diamonds are the 1.2 Ga old Krishna lamproites of Southern India, a rare Proterozoic occurrence of lamproites which are usually Cretaceous or younger in age. In this study we report Nd, Sr, Pb and Hf isotopes and multiple trace element concentrations of the Krishna lamproites. The goals are to evaluate mantle-processes and the petrogenesis of th...

Adakite magmatism within the Sabzevar ophiolite zone, NE Iran: U-Pb geochronology and Sr-Nd isotopic evidences

Numerous post-ophiolite intrusions exposed into the late Cretaceous–Paleocene Sabzevar ophiolite belt, northeast Iran. The intrusions consist of calc-alkaline intermediate to felsic rocks with metaluminous to peraluminous in nature and adakitic affinities. Based on U-Th-Pb dating on separated zircons by SHRIMP Ⅱ, the emplacement age of these rocks into the ophiolite zone is constrained to ~45 M...
